Our Mission

The Healthy Harvest Community Fridge is committed to combating food insecurity, minimizing waste, and promoting equitable access to nutritious food. By offering free, rescued groceries to individuals and families in need, we empower our community, enhance well-being, and inspire compassionate, sustainable change. Together, we build a healthier, more connected future for all.

Our
Story

Healthy Harvest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by medical students at the Texas A&M University School of Engineering Medicine. While serving at a student-run free clinic, students saw firsthand how food insecurity affected their patients’ health. They realized it wasn’t enough to encourage healthier eating without also providing access to nutritious food. From that realization, Healthy Harvest was born to support the Houston community.

Our Initiatives

Food Access

Our community fridge initiative aims to provide easy access to fresh and nutritious food for those in need. By stocking the fridge with donations, we ensure food security and support for the local community.

Give Back

Donations help us sustain our initiatives and expand our reach. Whether it's food, funds, or time, every contribution counts towards creating a more sustainable and supportive community.

Get Involved

Volunteering with us offers a chance to make a direct impact on the community. From stocking the fridge to organizing events, volunteers play a crucial role in our mission to support and uplift those in need.
